I Headed out to Wisconsin for the 2nd year in a row with Vaughn Gittin Jr. and what we have deemed the Vaughn Gittin Jr. “Smoke Show”…
The event was at Road America in Lake Elkhart, WI for the Kohler International Challenge presented by Ford, super rad event if you’re a petrol head, Trans Am racers, club racers and collectively a ton of the very rare Can Am race cars…
Come experience the event all over again with me…
Started of course at Phoenix Sky Harbor and tagged up the Roadhouse with a couple of the limited edition NOS Energy Drink & Keep Drifting Fun stickers, these are Seattle and New Jersey, if you’re coming to FORMULA DRIFT Vegas come see me, say “SEND IT” and I’ll grace you with the Vegas Edition sticker, BOOM!

First class upgrade! Stoked, sorry for blurry pic, but rare actual plates mind you a meal in flight!

Late Milwaukee ghost town airport…

Casual Friday so why not start off the day with a beer and food at local Sheboygan brewery and hop spot, Hop’s Haven….

When you get lost in the sticks of WI, ya never know what you’re gonna find!
TEAM PIG WRESTLING? I prefer solo one-on-one, that’s a real fair match!

Friday evening is the cruise from the Road America track into Elkhart Lake the town and the original road race track where the streets are lined with petrol heads & lead foots!

Andy Laputka and I first stop, some New Glarus Spotted Cow brews for $3, not bad!

This Datsun was sponsored by my wife’s alma mater Northwood University, rad!

Here’s some of the solid cars that cruised the street and then filled the streets for fans to check out!

Ol Jag is sick!

Love this pic! It’s just full of “wish you were here”

Like I said the actual roads USED to be the original track, here’s Vaughn hanging off the sign explaining where we’re standing…’

Andy and I enjoying the evening…

Old houses, old rad cars, love it…

LOVE THIS CAR! Old Can-Am race car…

Brown Bear, swing on in…

Obligatory, ride into the sunset pic…

Vaughn’s new helmet is pretty sweet with illustration by Mr. DSTROYR Jon Chase, atta boy!
Clean!

Road America is 4.0something miles long and used to be THE Longest race track in the U.S. until Miller in Utah was built, I love the landscape, the green and the spirit of this event….

This STOCK Ford Mustang color is rad, it changes in direct light, sunsets and so on…

Post event Saturday, paddock chilling with the “Smoke Show” crew…

JTP and Mickey (Ford Racing) breaking bread and brew, beers drank, pizza eaten, tires shredded!

Abby and Courtney vs. Vaughn and Andy… Abby nailed “The slide heard round the world”, cliffhanger!

Boney Joe looking like a real pimp….

Flowing lines…

Sunday= rainy day off and on but it dried up and hit the track when we could!

Classic Porsche’s for days!

I LOVE Classic imagery and logos…

Here ya go fixed gear and cycling heads, Mark, let’s build a drafting car like this!

I’m on the start bridge here…

Checkered flag!

Love this car, raw!

Clean Exige…

More Porsches…

The new Ferrari, sick lines… + some young good looking woman was driving it, come on!

Can Am start! Vroom…

RAD!

Green means go!

Fritz at Ford gets down, he’s a driver and this is his home track growing up!

Love the Trans Am cars, they’re just raw built up street cars, Mustangs, Camaro’s, Vette’s, even rad Jaguar’s, just raw…

Rain again but it dried quickly…

SPEEDVILLE!

Porsche Can Am car, this thing is SUPER RARE & was the pinnacle and testament to HOW GNARLY CAN AM got, Porsche 917 super light + gang of horsepower= insanity back in the 70’s…

The Mustang RTR framed…

Team dinner, Thai food debauchery, too good, too much food! Haha

Sunrise in Milwaukee as I head to the airport EARLY! saying good bye, peace WI, til’ next time!
