Bear bytes, Fun. Guaranteed, Meet Walmer

By Jarod DeAnda, March 9, 2010

Caught an email last week from a fan of the blog, Walmer Medina… Here’s Walmers TWITTER Follow him!

Never met Walmer, never knew of him and now I can say after exchanging some emails and being blessed with a gift from him he’s a solid guy. Walmers a fan of life, a husband and a father. Walmer sounds pretty much like me! It’s amazing how people can run concurrent lives but if you take a look around stir up a conversation you’ll see that there’s people that exist that share the some hobbies, passions and zest for life that you do, just be approachable, honest and sincere and your actions and good things/people will approach you…
I sound a bit like a fortune cookie, but regardless Walmer sent me a package that consisted of the following pieces…….Thanks Walmer, we’ll get up sooner than later, can’t wait to share a beer with ya!

Walmer’s Director or Marketing for the Fresno Grizzlies the Triple AAA minor league baseball team for the SF Giants

Grizzlies beanie, New Era official team hat and a stuffed animal bear for my son Parker…

Guess what the bears name is????
Yep, Parker…

Walmer even sent over the newest from FASHAWN- Boy Meets World

I give the Fresno Grizzlies hat a thumbs up!

Parker gives his Grizzlie a thumbs up as well!!!

More than a feeling at Winter X Games 14 in Aspen

By Jarod DeAnda, February 3, 2010

Winter X Games 14 in Aspen has come and gone and guess what…
I was there!!!

After my experience of working with X Games this past summer announcing Rally Car Racing I was contacted to announce for all snowmobiling disciplines which includes Freestyle, Best Trick, SnoCross, SnoCross Adaptive and Knockout…

What an experience, from the professionalism to the friendships I made, just being at the entire Winter X Games was an experience I’ll never forget and hopefully it’s not my last
Thanks to everybody involved and to those that helped me get me where I am today and helping me build for the future… I’m more open, honest and sincere with all my friends, family and confidants that have helped me, THANK YOU!

Without further ado Winter X Games 14 with Jarod DeAnda…

Press play! I sung this song every day while in Aspen for some reason, so it’s the soundtrack for my Winter X Games experience…

Unreal! BTW, Smoovbert was into sidehacks before they were on Fantasy Factory and was supposed to be in that episode as a matter of fact!
BTW, I grew up riding Redline’s, Diamondbacks and more with Skyways standard! My dad owned a bike shop when I was growing up in the bay area…

By Jarod DeAnda, August 4, 2009

This past weekend at X Games has been cataloged as one of the best in my life for many reasons, my personal experience, the kindness of friends and just all around a good time with my wife and friends…

I most importantly must thank Ken Block and DC Shoes for their hospitality….

Here’s the teaser pic of the VIP pass….

+ Me and my homie Dave Mirra aka THE MOST X GAMES MEDALS IN HISTORY LEADER!!!

Peace out AZ…

Hello Los Angeles with a sweet El Camino towing a same era speedboat in tow…

Hello LA…

The Gold Standard is ON!!!!!!!! Here’s a view from our room overlooking the displayed DC Subaru’s…

Our room was stocked with an assortment of Monster drinks, New Era hat, and HUGE 33 oz Asahi beers EVERY DAY!!!!

The Hospitality suite had a bunch of stuff on display including this Travis Pastrana #199 motor-shoe-cycle…

Kicks and hats…

These are the passes for the banging Friday night party, mind you we arrived on Thursday so plenty of things to do…

The details at The Gold Standard were solid, floormat I mean if theres custom THINGS TO WALK ON then you get the idea…

Double front flip on BMX Big Air by Anthony Napoliton but fails to medal=Bummer
Travis Pastrana attempts 720 but slams=bummer
Just kind of a bummer all around even Chad Kagy should’ve got gold but comes up just a bit short and gets silver and Dave Mirra gets bronze which is cool staying true to getting a medal every X Games except one!

Accelaration and Libations— See Ken Block blog at X Games & some beers I purchased

By Jarod DeAnda, July 29, 2009

The now infamous rally driver, Gymkhana hero and all around good guy and good friend of mine Ken Block will be blogging his adventures at X Games 15…
It can all be seen HERE AT KEN BLOCK’S SUBARU X GAMES 15 BLOG…
Like the “freak out” face

Here’s some libation/beer purchases I made and can’t wait to enjoy…
Stone Brewing 13th Anniversary Ale….
Can’t wait!!!!
A few fun facts about Stone 13th Anniversary Ale:
Head Brewer Mitch Steele
“Big, red, and a hop monster!”
1 This is the first time we’ve ever released the Imperial/Double Red style.
2 We used more pounds of hops per barrel than any beer we’ve ever made.
3 We used Chinook hops in the brewhouse for bittering and flavor, then dry-hopped this beer with a 50/50 blend of Simcoe and Centennial.
4 As an added bonus, we then dry-hopped it again, just prior to filtering and packaging. That’s right, our popular double dry-hopped process, for the first time ever in one of our bottled beers!
Stone 13th Anniversary Ale pours brilliant deep red with a light tan foam. Up front, the aroma is all piney, resinous and citrus hops. Upon tasting, the hops are still on the front, and they are balanced with the malty, toffee like flavors contributed from the blend of crystal and amber malts used in the brewhouse. The finish is deliciously bitter, with a touch of warmth provided by the 9.5% alcohol. Bitterness comes in at 90+ IBU.

Next is from the NW Rogue Ales Somer Orange Honey Ale
The chick is my friend’s wife who works at Rogue, her name is guess…. Somer haha
